About me

The name of my blog name is KarlaLizzle.  If you want to know this name comes from, the Karla comes from my family, and the Lizzle comes from my heart. In this blog, I have chosen my best writing from Mr. Lewenstein’s English 61 class. I love exercising when I'm really stressed about something. Jogging is what I love doing the most, while I jog I like to feel the breeze around me as I run. I enjoy art as you can see the background of my blog. I was born in Mexicali where most of us like to go and enjoy to eat tacos. But I grew up living in the Coachella valley where the festivals happen.

In Lewenstein’s English 61 class we were to do a sixties research essay. I decided to do it on Marilyn Monroe’s death. Since her death was a mystery and still is today. There’s conspiracy theories but what they say mostly is about that she overdose.

Spiderman Narrative

In class we were to make a comic strip about Spider man and the vulture. The Vulture was going to take over the city and Spider man had to save the world.

Compare and contrast

We were to compare a sixties from today. and i decided to do it on Marilyn and Lindsay. Marilyn sad ending to her life makes a lot of us look closer at Lindsay Lohan.

Two-truths-and-one-lie
We were to to do three paragraphs one had to be a lie and two were to be truth.

Compare and contrast

Marilyn sad ending to her life makes a lot of us look closer at Lindsay Lohan. Although Marilyn Monroe and Lindsay Lohan lived their life’s differently, they have quite similarities. Lindsay was born in New York and Marilyn Monroe was born in Los Angeles. She was symbolized as a sex symbol for men in that era. She was a model and an actress so is Lindsay Lohan. Unlike Lindsay Lohan, Marilyn also did commercials she was on the top. Both of these women did some type of drugs. Marilyn suffered from depression and overdosed with pills that she was prescribed with. On the other hand, Lindsay had numerous shoplifting, drugs and alcohol. Another similarity is that both started as a modeling career, just that Lindsay started when she was only three years old. Marilyn’s father was never known, plus she didn’t even have family. She worked hard by herself to become someone. She was willing to please others, While Lindsay had both of her parents in support. They both had a waisted career,Marilyn died in 1962 and Lindsay got arrested twice.

Spiderman Narrative

In a big calm city, The Vulture has a master plan to take over the city. When Spider-Man and The Vulture had fought The Vulture did what he had to do to destroy the city a and to kill Spider-Man. As soon as Spider-Man tried to throw a fist The Vulture somehow trapped Spider-Man into a water tank. In hours, Spider-Man tries to get out from the water tank although he tried it multiple times. While Spider-Man being stuck in there he is thinking if he doesn't get out he will eventually die. Sadly, the walls were too slippery and wet so he couldn't climb. So he needed to come up with an idea before it's too late. Finally he comes up with an idea on how to escape, he swam all the way to the bottom where he found an exit. He then gets out and protects the city.

Two Truths and One Lie

I really enjoy going out for a run most of the time I go like three times a week its such stress reliever for me and its also one of my favorite hobbies.Especially when I'm really stressed about something that's affecting me I immediately go out for a jog because if I don't I'll go crazy. Right after I come back from my jog I always grab a little snack, something I'm also really into that I forgot to mention is nutrition. Once I'm done with that I go to my room and start my workout. I get to do this in the morning and sometimes at night. Whenever I do this at night I sleep very comfortable fresh as fuck.

I'm in love with Mexican food. It has that spicy flavor that no other type of food has in the world. The smell makes me feel some type of way. Like the smell of pozole or enchiladas. Family parties are the best when they give Mexican food like tacos, the variety of different meats is my favorite.
I've been driving since I was in seventh grade. I taught myself how to drive within one week. Since then I drive myself everywhere and I got my license at age 15. I've driven to San Diego by myself without company by my side. I can really careless where I go if its with someone or not. I even passed my written exam the first try and my drivers test. I knew exactly what I was doing when I took the exam.

Mysterious Death of Marilyn Monroe

An icon is a star, a symbol, and a person who stands above everyone else. Marilyn Monroe was the most beautiful of the beautiful and the most important symbol on earth. Her story is not about how she lived, it’s about how she died. It’s not about being loved by millions, it’s about dying alone. Her fame and her past was one of the reasons why she is still important today. Her life was something that inspires young women. Marilyn’s death was a shock to everyone. Even though she’s gone her fame still lives.
Marilyn Monroe had a rough childhood. She had an unstable mother and grew up with no father, there was no identity of her father. While she was growing up she spent most of her lifetime in an orphanage, her unstable mother had sent her there. “No one ever told me I was pretty when I was a little girl. All little girls should be told they’re pretty even if they’re aren’t.” In my opinion everyone has beauty upon themselves and everyone should be told pretty regardless. Although Marilyn had all the money, fame and adulation in the world, her life in the spotlight drove her to a tragic drug overdose.
The article “Marilyn Monroe’s Biography”, explains her death, fame, and life. She was an American actress who was born in June 1, 1926. Her death was a mystery due to the fact that there was no evidence that she could’ve swallowed the pills. There’s another rumor that John F. Kennedy and his brother could have been the fault because of the affairs. Although she had a difficult childhood she still continued to succeed in life and she continued to look for happiness. During her childhood she was sent by her mother to an orphanage due to the fact that she was emotionally unstable. In addition Monroe was sexually harassed and was raped at age eleven. Her father was unknown. In order to forget her past she got married at sixteen with her boyfriend Jimmy Dougherty in June 12, 1942. By then she was known to be a model by a photographer. At that time she had changed her name from Norma Jeane Mortenson to Marilyn Monroe. Also she started the acting career where she came out in several films. In conclusion, her childhood was extremely difficult she overcame it and continued with her life.

Coming To The United States
I was only seven years old when my tia brought me here to the United States illegally. I remember it was a rainy night during the cold winter. I was in back of her seat, I was a little scared I did not want to get caught and sent back to Mexicali. To tell the truth, my heart was escalating so quickly at the moment, but I did have hope I knew god was there with me. Having to experience this at a young age was very distressing yet worth it. This was a very terrifying moment of my life. I knew my life was going to change for the better. Better things are yet to come in my life. That night changed my life completely.
Coming to United States as an immigrant changed my life. When I lived in Mexico things were complicated because it is really dangerous out there and also everything was so far away and it was hard to get transportation. In Mexico things are so spread out. In addition it is hard to get job opportunities or even pursue a career. In this case, I was the only one from my family to be in Mexico that is also one of the main reasons why I am here in the United States. To give an example, with the ten years I was here I learned English so luckily I'm bilingual. Which is amazing because many jobs hire you easily if you know how to speak two languages. For example, I currently work at McDonalds as a cashier and there's many customers that I've had that only speak Spanish and I could take advantage of this because it helps me in the future. This has really made me grow as a person in general. To end this, I've changed and have learned a lot through out these ten years at being here in the United States. Before I felt like a young little girl but now I feel like a young grown woman.
The most difficult challenge was to be without my friends. When I moved to United States I saw different atmosphere and gringos around me which made me feel weird and at some point I did feel differently. My friends in Mexico were the only friends I had and having to make new friends here in the United States was difficult. I was a really shy and a quiet person I did not know how was I going to get through to this. When I arrived to class the first day of school I felt very isolated from my other classmates. I was really confused because my other class mates would speak English and I had no idea what they were saying to each other. I really did not know how was I going to approach to anyone or my teacher when I would need help. I realized that I shouldn't feel afraid of anything in life especially when it comes to asking for help. And I know I'm capable to succeed in life no matter the circumstances. We all through rough times in our life.
Even though, I faced some challenges in my life I still managed to continue with my education and pursue my goals in life. As I grew up I met a variety of friends that went through the same phase as me. For instance, I realized that I was not the only one in the world to go through this challenging life time. Having positive people around me also encouraged me to succeed and graduate high school. I worked really hard throughout my four years of high school just to get where I want to be. And now that I'm attending college I hope to pursue my career. No matter my ethnicity or color of my skin, it won't change the fact that I am a human.
To end this, going through a challenging life, changed my life for the better. Even though it was really hard to go through this event in my life I did not give up no matter the circumstances. Being brought here to the United States made me realize the opportunities that I have than I did before when I was in Mexico. This was a very important obstacle that occurred in my life.To end this, now that I am a young grown woman I know that I shouldn't feel ashamed of who I am or be afraid of anything in life. Life is too short.
